About Us

Gretchen Hazlin
Gretchen is in her seventh year as librarian at Kilmer Middle School. After spending several years working in corporate and special libraries, she is finally exactly what she wants to be when she grows up; she loves teaching information literacy skills, young adult literature, and providing support to teachers and students. Leslie Howard
Leslie is a middle school librarian, currently on sabbatical in Sarajevo. Upon receiving her BS in Language Arts Education from Auburn University, she began her career as an English teacher.  She decided to move to the library in order to better pursue her passions: helping teachers to make learning active and fun, and connecting students to the "right" YA book.  Leslie received her Master's of Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina.

Sarah Pevner
Sarah is a high school librarian in northern Virginia. She started her career as a youth service public librarian. She is passionate about young adult literature (and also presents on this topic) and believes that research can be painless and sometimes even fun. Sarah earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland Baltimore College in English and Women's Studies, and a Master of Library Science with a specialty in school libraries from the University of Maryland College Park.

Krissy Ronan
Krissy is a librarian at Madison High School in Vienna, VA. Formerly an elementary school teacher, Krissy moved into the field of librarianship because of her love of books and a desire to collaborate more fully with teachers and students. Her goals as a librarian are to make teachers' lives easier and to encourage students to read. Krissy earned a BS in Elementary Education from Oklahoma State University and a Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina. Twitter @madlibrary
